Massachusetts Fashion Week – Where Fashion Meets Community

Now in its second year, Massachusetts Fashion Week (MAFW) is more than just a runway—it’s a movement. Created as an educational program for models, creatives, and entrepreneurs, MAFW is committed to building confidence, providing hands-on experience, and celebrating local talent through fashion.

Since launching, we’ve proudly produced 15 fashion shows across New England and have trained and mentored hundreds of models through our workshops, classes, and fashion show experiences. Each show is designed to be more than a moment—it’s a mission to uplift and unite.

This finale show will feature emerging designers, stylists, and models from across Massachusetts. With a strong community focus and a tagline of "Where Fashion Meets Community," we are always seeking new ways to celebrate the local culture and elevate the experience for our guests. Join us May 31st and be part of the MAFW fam!

Join us for Boston’s Got Talent: Fashion Show Edition — a night of style, creativity, and purpose!

Presented by the Thelma D. Burns Scholarship, this exciting event is more than just a fashion show — it's a youth designer competition where talented students in grades 7–12 take the runway to showcase their craftsmanship and creativity through original fashion designs.

This event also serves as a fundraiser for the Thelma D. Burns Scholarship, which will be awarded to a graduating senior who is pursuing higher education, developing a skill, or launching their path in entrepreneurship. All proceeds will directly support the scholarship fund.

Join us for a day of volunteering while meeting incredible new friends with Give n’ Glow, a 501(c)3 nonprofit committed to empowering women through beauty, is joining forces with Glowbar and Girlfriends Boston to provide 1,000 women in need with self-care essentials.

Through this collaboration, beauty care kits filled with high-quality beauty products, generously donated by brands such a SkinFix, Saie Beauty, Henkel, Shielded Beauty, and Clarins, will be distributed to shelters and organizations across Massachusetts.

On April 5, from 12pm-2pm, the communities of all of these organizations will gather to give back with beauty and amplify Give n' Glow's mission through volunteering together.

100% of the donations will go to Give n’ Glow to further their mission.

Non-Alcoholic drinks will be produced and there will be food to purchase at Bow Market.

This learning session has been a long-time in the making. There are so many small things that could become big things that FaB businesses need to be aware of.

In this session, Justin Nesbit, attorney and former salon owner, will discuss business structures (LLC, C Corp, S-Corp), trademarks (licensing, protection and infringing) and protecting your trade secrets and your business. We’ll also talk about the other benefits that your relationship with an attorney could bring you that are often not talked about.

This will be general information that most of us need, but bring your questions and he’ll do his best to answer everything or direct you to sources for your answers.

Arcwood Jewelry is a sustainable handcrafted jewelry company specializing

in custom pieces made from alternative materials such as wood, glass, and

flowers designed and crafted in a modern, minimalist aesthetic.

The owner and craftsman, Lincoln Pollock is a 24-year-old artist who designs

and crafts each piece.

“The theme behind my designs is allowing the materials to speak for

themselves by using various shapes and subtle accents to accentuate the

beauty of these materials while maintaining their natural elegance. I believe

that there is depth behind simplicity.”

The space features an open studio where visitors can watch him work and

purchase his jewelry.

Northeastern University’s Caribbean Students’ Organization will be hosting its annual and merged Fashion + Culture show.

Learn how embroidery can be a tactile self soothing tool for anxiety, ADHD, or general well-being! Join us to create a tactile soothing article of clothing for you or someone you care about.

In this workshop, fashion meets inclusivity and sustainability. Be a part of engaging discussions on inclusive design practices, and learn embroidery techniques that prioritize wellbeing and comfort.

Through insightful discussions, hands-on activities, and expert instruction, students will work towards a final project: creating their own recycled, embroidered piece.

Megan Burke explains the "why" behind specific stitches you will learn as you create the perfect texture for self-soothing tactile input. Students learn about proprioception, pairing physical movement & tactile input with grounding breaths to practice self-regulation and ground in support of mental health.

While learning how to create a self-soothing texture, students find comfort and peace in the workshop themselves. The action of embroidery requires both hands and eyes of each participant which simultaneously soothes the mind through repetitive tractile action and prompts open conversation by taking away the pressure of eye contact. This creates a low-stakes environment for open conversation and connection while teaching students a skill that will serve them in their careers in design.

There will be time to share your upcoming events and space to bring any marketing material to promote as well.

Tours of the studio will be provided to view video and photography spaces for rent.

This event is open to fashion enthusiasts, models, photographers, designers, jewelers and accessory creators, beauty brands, MUA, Hair colorists, braiders, weavers, designers, cutters - everyone who makes Boston feel beautiful in any way are welcome!

As always, members are free, all others are charged a nominal fee to attend.

After sharing a storefront with 2 other women-owned brands in Wellesley, MA, CARLA SHAW Sustainable Fashion is opening the door of their own store, solo, in Newton Centre, on January 28. Stop by and say hello!

The CARLA SHAW Sustainable Fashion is a botanical jewelry line made with real plants preserved in 18-karat gold – or silver and rhodium.  The production of the pieces uses responsible sourcing practices and sustainable materials – having a minimal impact on the environment. Like snowflakes, each piece is truly one-of-a-kind, which adds to the sophistication and charm of the collection.  

A Grand Opening event is still being planned.
